Chicken Briyani

Nasi Briyani with chicken or lamb is my all time fav.I am fussy over the right flavour and curry texture and none recipes match that of I missed back home.

This briyani  recipe really tasted very close.Voila!

Here ‘s the recipe…

serves 4

Ingredients
2 tbsp ghee
1 onion sliced
1 tomato sliced
1 tsp salt
1 kg chicken(prefer maryland)
60 ml yogurt
120g chopped mint leaves
fresh coriander to garnish
Curry Paste
1 1/2 coriander powder
1 tsp cumin powder
2 tsp fennel powder
2 tsp chilli powder
1/2 tsp tumeric powder
1/2 tsp ground white pepper
125ml water

Method

  1. First blend all the curry paste spices with some water to form a paste.
    Heat the ghee in a pan and fry the onions until soft.
    Stir in the curry paste,then add the tomato,salt and chicken and simmer until the tomato is soft. I include the potato which is optional.
  2. Add the water and continue to simmer,covered,until the chicken is done and potato is soft.
  3. Add the yogurt and mint leaves,simmer for 5 mins.
  4. Garnish with coriander leaves serve with basmatic rice(in my next post).Voila!
