A Sponge cake with different ingredients using the steam method.
This recipe by Alex Goh, one of my favorite chefs whose bread making is superbly well known because of his techniques creating softness in the texture of the bread.
Ingredients A
- 5 eggs
- 140g sugar
- 140g brown sugar
- 1/4 tsp salt
Ingredients B
- 1 tsp vanilla essence
- 1/4 tsp baking soda
- 120g evaporated milk
Ingredients C
- 260g plain flour
- 1 tbsp baking powder
Ingredients D
- 80g corn oil
Method
- Whip ingredients A until sugar dissolves and has slightly thickened. Add in ingredients B, mix in well-blended.
- Add in sieved ingredients C, mix until well-blended. Add in ingredients D, mix until well-combined.
- Pour it onto a greased and lined 20cm square mould.
- Put it into steamer and steam for 35 minutes. Voila!
