One Dish Braised Tofu With Pork

Sometimes after a hard day’s work, preparing a quick one dish meal is most appropriate.

This Braised Tofu with Pork is easy and straightforward to cook. Goes well with steam rice.

Ingredients

  • 1 tofu ( Japanese beancurd preferably the tube ones,soft )
  • 1/4 cup sliced Shiitake mushrooms ( soaked and drained )
  • 1/4 cup minced Pork or Chicken meat
  • some dried Shrimps
  • Some Spring onions

Seasonings 

  • 1/2 tbsp oyster sauce
  • 1/2 tsp chicken granules or powder
  • Pinch of sugar
  • 125 ml water
  • 1/2 tsp cornflour mix with water

Method

  1. Cut tofu into 6-8 portions. Heat up wok with some oil, deep fry tofu till golden brown, dish up.
  2. Remove the oil from wok, leaving about 1 tbsp and fry the shrimps, mushrooms and minced meat till done.
  3. Pour in the water, seasonings and spring onions. Stir and bring to boil. Pour in the cornflour mix and stir for a while till sauce thickens.
  4. Dish up the contents and pour over the fried tofu. Serve. Voila!
