Kimchi Stew

My family really enjoyed this dish I cooked. Yummy they said. I never doubted any kind of kimchi. They are so appetizing  and refreshing. Another delightful recipe by Maangchi.

Serves 4

Ingredients

  • 200g pork belly, thinly sliced
  • 4 or 5 cups chopped kimchi ( I bought a packet kimchi with the sauce )
  • 1 tbsp sugar
  • 1 tsp hot pepper flakes
  • 1 tbsp hot pepper paste
  • 1 onion, sliced
  • some spring onions, sliced
  • 1/2 packet tofu
  • sesame oil and water

Method

  1. Put the kimchi and sauce into a pot
  2. Lay pork belly, onion, spring onion, sugar, hot pepper flakes, hot pepper paste on top.
  3. Add water until the all ingredients are submerged.
  4. Cover with lid and bring to a boil for 20-25 minutes. ( first 10 minutes on high heat and then bring down to medium heat )
  5. Add the tofu and bring to boil for 5 minutes, add sesame oil right before serving. Voila!
