Fish In Easy Sweet Sour Sauce

An easy and appetizing recipe with red snapper fillets embraced in sweet and sour sauce. This is easily served with steam rice.

Ingredients

  • 350g fish fillets, cut into small portions ( I used snapper fish )
  • 3 tbsp plain flour
  • pinch of chinese five spice powder

Sauce

  • 1/4 cup tomato ketchup
  • 1/4 cup chilli sauce
  • 1 tbsp plum sauce
  • 150ml water
  • 1/4 onion, sliced
  • 1/2 cup capsicum, cut to bite sizes
  • 1/2 cup cucumber, cut to bite sizes
  • 1/2 red chilli, sliced
  • 2.5 cm grated ginger

Method

  1. Coat the fillets with flour and five spice powder, deep fry in hot oil for 1-2 minutes till slightly brown. Dish up and place on a serving plate.
  2. Prepare the sauce. Heat up one tbsp oil and saute the onion, ginger, capsicum and red chillis for 1 – 2 minutes.
  3. Add in the ketchup, chilli sauce, plum sauce and water, give a stir to combine and bring to a quick boil.
  4. Pour the ready sauce over the fillets. Serve with steam rice. Voila!
