An easy and appetizing recipe with red snapper fillets embraced in sweet and sour sauce. This is easily served with steam rice.
Ingredients
- 350g fish fillets, cut into small portions ( I used snapper fish )
- 3 tbsp plain flour
- pinch of chinese five spice powder
Sauce
- 1/4 cup tomato ketchup
- 1/4 cup chilli sauce
- 1 tbsp plum sauce
- 150ml water
- 1/4 onion, sliced
- 1/2 cup capsicum, cut to bite sizes
- 1/2 cup cucumber, cut to bite sizes
- 1/2 red chilli, sliced
- 2.5 cm grated ginger
Method
- Coat the fillets with flour and five spice powder, deep fry in hot oil for 1-2 minutes till slightly brown. Dish up and place on a serving plate.
- Prepare the sauce. Heat up one tbsp oil and saute the onion, ginger, capsicum and red chillis for 1 – 2 minutes.
- Add in the ketchup, chilli sauce, plum sauce and water, give a stir to combine and bring to a quick boil.
- Pour the ready sauce over the fillets. Serve with steam rice. Voila!
