Spicy Bean Sauce With Braised Tofu

This tofu is a healthy dish which is rich in protein and low in fat. I have this dish braised with spicy bean sauce, mushrooms and minced pork.

Ingredients

  • 2 Japanese beancurds, cut into 6 portions each
  • 2 mushrooms soaked and diced
  • 1 red chilli diced
  • 1/2 cup minced pork

Seasoning

  • 1 tbsp oyster sauce
  • 2 tbsp spicy bean sauce
  • pinch of sugar
  • 1/2 tsp chicken powder
  • 1 tsp light soya sauce
  • Little dark soy sauce
  • 250ml water
  • pinch of pepper
  • 1 tsp cornflour ( mix with water )
  • Chopped spring onions

Method

  1. Heat up wok with boiled oil, deep fry tofu until golden brown and crispy. Dish up in a dish.
  2. Heat up wok and add in 2 tbsp oil, saute rest of the ingredients until fragrant. Pour in water and other seasoning, stir until gravy comes to a boil. Pour in the cornflour mixture and bring to boil and sauce thickens.
  3. Pour the gravy onto the tofu. Garnish with spring onions. Serve. Voila!
