I chanced upon this recipe by Martin Yan and thought it s quite interesting that he uses red fermented beancurd in this recipe. It is so yummy! Please try.
Ingredients
- 450gm chicken breast or thigh( I prefer breast ) cut to bite size
- 1 cup cornstarch
- 1 egg (beaten)
- oil for deep frying
Marinade
- 2 cubes (30gm) red fermented beancurd
- 1 tsp sugar
- 1/4 tsp salt
- 1/2 tsp sesame oil
- 3 dashes white pepper powder
Method
- Mash the fermented beancurd in a bowl, add sugar,salt and white pepper powder and stir well.
- Add in the chicken pieces and leave it to marinate in the fridge for 1 to 4 hours.
- Heat up oil for deep frying. Dip the chicken pieces into the beaten egg and coat with constarch evenly.
- Deep fry the chicken until they turn golden brown. Remove and drain on paper towel.
- Serve with your favorite sauce. Voila!
