I know that this rolled oats raisin bars are too golden in color but I assured you it s not burnt. I baked this delicious dessert last week and it s a simple recipe which take about 15 minutes to prep and 15-20 minutes to cook. It makes about 14 pieces but that s your preference for the bar size. My mates enjoyed this healthy oats with raisins combination. I also added in some toasted crushed walnut  from leftovers. However, I have reduced the sugar a little as the raisins are already sweet enough. I thought I post and share this easy recipe with you.

Ingredients

  • 140g rolled oats
  • 100g demerara sugar
  • 85g raisins
  • 115g butter, melted, extra for greasing

Method

  1. Preheat the oven to 190’C. Grease a shallow baking tin 28x18cm.
  2. Combine the oats, sugar, crushed walnuts(optional) and raisins with the butter in a mixing bowl, stirring well. Spoon the mixture into the prepared tin and press down firmly with the back of a spoon.
  3. Bake in the preheated oven for 15-20 minutes or until golden.
  4. Using a sharp knife, mark into 14 bars, then leave to cool in the tin for 10 minutes. Carefully transfer the bars to a wire rack to cool completely. Voila!Happy Days!
