So wonderful that I made this at last! It brought memories of yesteryears when I was a kid back home. Hawker food in my home country is a huge thing. You can find many super delicious mouthwatering food at any hawker stalls all over the place.
The hawker culture there is recently recognised by the UNESCO.
Briefly, I made this asian style stir fried carrot cake using grated white radish mixed with rice flour to form a batter and then steamed into a cake-like. When it is cooked, the cake is sliced to small bite sizes , fry with eggs and seasonings is finally added to taste.
There are 2 variations to season the dish. The white carrot cake uses only garlic, fish sauce with salty and sweet preserved dried radish. As for the black fried carrot cake , the dish required garlic, black sweet sauce, fish sauce and preserved dried radish(salty and sweet). You can add some sambal belacan(chilli) for spiciness. Yum.. Happy Days!
